Vauxhall Insignia Keys – PO8 – Cowplain – Hampshire
A Vauxhall Insignia customer got in touch from Cowplain, PO8 near Portsmouth, Hampshire. He required his existing Vauxhall Insignia key repaired and a new Insignia key provided, as a spare car key. Vauxhall Insignia vehicles of this mark use the Astra J key. The customer’s existing broken Vauxhall Insignia key was in a bad state. However the circuit board and the transponder were in good condition. A new key was cut, copied from the existing broken key and re-cased, with the existing electronics, using genuine Vauxhall parts. The original key was now as-good-as-new, and worked fine.
Spare Vauxhall Insignia Key Supplied, Cut and Programmed
Once the original Insignia key was repaired and operational, I moved onto the spare key. Another genuine Vauxhall remote was prepared and assembled, and the key was cut to the correct key number and tested in the door lock and the ignition. A battery was placed into the remote circuit board, ready for transponder and remote programming.
Prior to programming the key, the immobiliser pin was learned, using specialised equipment. This is required for key learning on Vauxhall vehicles. In cases where the pin cannot be learned from the immobiliser, it may be necessary to gain this code from a Vauxhall dealer.
The key programming procedure on the Vauxhall Insignia requires a 12 minute key learning and authorisation process. The transponder and the remote and programmed in sync. This procedure completed successfully, and the customer was now happy, now having 2 keys for his Vauxhall Insignia.
